Job title: Deputy Store Manager

Description: Job Purpose:
To take ownership with the Store Manager to deliver the P&L and operational excellence of the store. To drive amazing customer service through effectively leading and developing all store colleagues. Supporting and deputising for Store Managers as required.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Customer:
* Achievement of customer service targets including delivering amazing customer service
* Ensure full deployment of scheduling tools to match staff profile to footfall
* Network locally to play an active part in the community
* Deliver operational excellence to achieve store standards
* Drive continuous improvement

Commercial Focus:
* Drive key KPIs to achieve company targets
* Minimise store losses through adherence to company profit protection and security measures
* Track and manage store P&L to deliver agreed performance
* Delivery of stock management standards and disciplines
* Comply with all company policies, procedures and legal requirements
* Implement a plan to drive omni-channel sales based on store profile and demographics
* Implement a tactical trading plan based on store current performance and competition
* Take commercial actions on a daily basis to convert plans into sales
* Deliver clear communication to ensure tasks are completed effectively
* Communicate and re-enforce business strategy

People:
* Inspire teams to deliver amazing customer service and standards
* Guide team to success through effective coaching and leadership
* Manage the performance of Sales Floor Managers and CSA colleagues
* Ensure that all colleagues understand their role and responsibilities; providing coaching and in-store training to develop positive behaviours, skills and specialism
* Support and take actions in response to colleague feedback
* Role model positive behaviours to help build a cohesive team
* Deliver the daily team briefing
* Set stretch targets with store manager for individual team colleagues
* Support the delivery of effective induction and development programs for all colleagues

Specialism:
* Support the development of a highly effective team through performance management, training and development.
* Using the staff scheduling tools, build a staffing profile to deliver specialism and optimum service.
* Delivery of visual merchandising plan in line with company standards and maximisation of all promotional campaigns
* Ambassador for all change initiatives

Knowledge & Skills:

Essential:
* Commercial instinct with a business management mind-set
* Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
* Drive to move store forward
* Able to make quick decisions even when under pressure or to a tight deadline
* Leading from the front
* Flexibility to support the business
* Proven track record of being in a leadership role and effectively managing people

Desirable:
* Experience of using digital tools and social media
